๐ŸŽฎ Games to Play

1. The "Guess What I Wrote" Game

   Partner writes ANYTHING on paper.
You: Find it using only good questions.
   Goal: Fewest questions = winner.
Bonus: Forces you to avoid test questions.

2. Become a Question Anthropologist

   Watch TV/Radio interviews.
   Ask yourself:

3. Conscious Awareness Mode

Our brain is normally 1-2% conscious.
   Sometimes, deliberately flip the switch:

๐Ÿง  "For the next 10 minutes, I will
       only notice QUESTION PATTERNS."

Listen to others. Notice the TYPE.
See the impact. Steal good ones.

4. Safe Experimentation Zone

   Friends, colleagues, family โ€“
   they're your lab. ๐Ÿงช

   Try a new question type.
If it comes out clunky โ†’
   immediately CLARIFY:

"What I meant to ask was..."

Poof! You just turned a bad question good.
   Nobody knows you messed up.
   You ask a question.
The answer might not be what it seems...

Key Response Types โ€“ Cheat Sheet

Response What It Looks Like Why It Happens
Direct & Honest Clear, matches question They're comfortable. Less likely in formal/tense situations.
Lie Deliberately false Hard to catch. Look for plausibility gaps or nonverbal leaks.
Out of Context Completely irrelevant Avoiding the topic. Reword your question.
Partial Answer Picks only easy bits Formal/tension = more selectivity. Probe the missing parts.
Avoiding the Answer Statement unrelated to question Politicians' superpower. They say prepared lines.
Stalling "Hmm, let me think...", asks you a question back Needs time to craft acceptable answer.
Distortion Exaggerates, bends truth unconsciously Social norms, wanting to look good. They believe it.
Refusal Silence or "No comment" No legal way to force an answer. (Teens excel at this.)
๐ŸŽฌ Famous UK Interview Moment:
Interviewer asked the same yes/no question 14 times.
Politician ripped off mic and stormed out.
Closed questions can be weapons.
   Most questioners are listening...
TO THEMSELVES planning the next question.
